Have you ever took a vacation, and wondered if you turned off the oven?
75 year old Ted Striker, a former Los Angeles taxi cab driver, suddenly remembered last week that he had left the meter on of his taxi cab 46 YEARS AGO. In 1980, a middle-aged man had hailed the cab, and Striker turned on the meter, then ran into an airport terminal to take care on some personal business.
It appears the passenger left the cab and the meter running, and now SOMEBODY owes the YELLOW CAB COMPANY $18,654,095, but nobody knows who the middle-aged passenger was.
''He must have been in a hurry, unwilling to wait for me to come back'', said Striker. ''Still, I am glad that I was able to stop the meter and return the cab to the garage after all these years''.
Stryker, 75 years old, lives in Anaheim with his wife Elaine. He is a retired airline pilot.
